The Gardiner Fire Department consists of twenty full-time firefighter/paramedics a fire chief and eight call company members. With staffing five firefighter/paramedics per shift, we provide fire and paramedic level EMS services within Gardiner and our seven neighboring communities. In addition to Fire and EMS, we provide auto extrication and water/ice rescue.
We are the only career department within our response area, responding to over 3600 emergency calls annually to include paramedic level EMS services for eight communities spanning 250 square miles and a population of 25,000. Additionally, we provide fire and EMS mutual aid for the state capital, the City of Augusta, and the Veterans Administration Hospital at Togus.
